![]() ![]() ![]() Good luck, hazard perception is an absolute pain in the rear but once you get the hang of it in practice you’ll feel confident to pass it in the test. Might not work for you but it got me higher scores in practice and in my test (passed) so I believe it is worth a try. It might take a couple of goes to get a hang of it but the more you practice the more you’ll get used to the approach/timing that works for you. This might happen a couple of times in practice but staying calm and reducing the amount of clicks per hazard and/or changing the speed/tempo between clicks helps to find the balance to prevent this. While several clicks can help, it’s best to keep an eye on how many clicks you do per hazard so you don’t use too many, or make it seem like you’re just following a rhythmic pattern, as this can fail the clip and leave you with a 0. This way I was getting higher scores even when my first click was too early and I was generally getting higher per clip because there was more chance of fitting the clicks into the small window that registers the score counting down from 5. One approach I found useful was to do 3-4 clicks per hazard, with a second between each click. Unfortunately I’m rubbish at explaining things so I hope you can make sense of this long winding hazard perception tip. I asked my instructor about it and he gave me some really good advice. I found I was clicking way too early, and after noticing that I was also sometimes second guessing myself and leaving it too late as well.
